Why did we create eYssen?
In 2025, we decided to fork the Odoo Community Edition and launch eYssen and the eYssen Cloud platform. The reason behind this decision lies in the ongoing changes to Odoo’s business model, which increasingly pushes customers towards the Enterprise Edition and SaaS, while limiting the freedom of Community users and partners.
Many features that were once available in the Community edition have gradually been moved to the Enterprise version. Licensing terms became stricter, and the official SaaS approach left less flexibility for partners to operate their own services.
What once began as Fabien Pinckaers’ vision – a truly open ecosystem, led by partners, empowering businesses with freedom and flexibility – has gradually turned into a closed, vendor-centric SaaS company. While Odoo has grown into a global success story, it has also steadily distanced itself from its original open-source philosophy.
eYssen, however, carries forward that earlier vision: a commitment to openness, independence, and long-term trust with clients and partners.

Our team's journey began more than 28 years ago. During this time, we have navigated numerous technological transformations and business challenges, always focusing on building reliable, long-term partnerships.
Our connection with Odoo (and its predecessors, TinyERP and OpenERP) runs particularly deep: we have been active members of the ecosystem for more than 18 years. Throughout this period, we have served as developers, operators, and support providers. From 2018 to 2025, we also officially operated as an Odoo Partner.
This extensive experience led us to recognize that the changes in Odoo’s business model necessitated a dedicated, flexible, and independent alternative. By launching eYssen, we are carrying forward the original open-source vision, which grants you full control and ownership over your system.
